Charlie hadn't been sure if Callum would come if he were honest, if he'd told him about it - what with everything, and as much as he didn't want to make any of this harder on him he could admit that knowing Callum was there made him feel better, if only a little bit.
When Callum offered to leave, Charlie shook his head laying a hand on Callum's shoulder. "I've taken care of things at the reserve today." He told him. "I'd like it if you'd stay." This hadn't been the time or the place he'd thought he would talk to Callum, but if all the death they had experienced over the last year had taught him nothing else, Charlie was very aware of just how fleeting life could be, and he didn't want to continue wasting his time with Callum.
