"Oh for God's sake," Alastor muttered. The outburst wasn't truly directed at Charlie, but at the two of them together. Even Alastor knew better and that was saying something. At least when he'd pushed Marlene away it had been because he hadn't been ready to accept how he felt. These two didn't seem to understand what the other one felt and said everything wrong.
All right, tiny steps it was. Really, they just needed some logic to this. Emotions weren't completely devoid of logic once you allowed emotions to be a part of the equation.
"All right, I have several questions on all of this, but let's get one thing out of the way first -- Do you want to marry my brother? Do you want to spend the rest of your lives together?" Because as far as Alastor was concerned, that was the only reason to get married. Make excuses all you want about reputation, if you didn't want to spend the rest of your life with a person, you didn't get married.
