"Hurting him more?" Charlie asked, "What gives you the impression that I've ever thought about hurting him, let alone that I would think to do it again?" He understood being protective of family, he'd do the same for any of his brothers but that Alastor seemed to think Charlie had gone out with a mind to hurt Callum at any point he didn't understand.
"I don't think he's after happiness at the moment." Charlie said, he could let Alastor get upset here, and really it'd be only too easy to do the same, but Charlie really did want to help Callum. "I get that you're upset here, and that you want to help Callum, but you don't know what's happened between us and if you think it has been easy to even consider the idea of him leaving then you clearly have no grasp of the situation. When the person you love practically begs you to let them leave then you come and talk to me about how easy this is."
"I'm still trying to figure out where things went wrong." Charlie admitted, for all that he'd talked with Callum and tried to get his bearings with Percy he still didn't know how they'd gone from what he could now only describe as an idyllic life at Hogwarts to life after where everything had fallen apart in what felt like only moments after they'd left the school. "I've tried talking to him and that's only lead to him deciding that leaving the country would be the best option. And short of staying here for the foreseeable future I'm at a loss as to how to fix this. Talking with him just seems to make it worse, and for all that I've tried to remind him of both you and Baron that doesn't seem to be enough like you've said. Short of continuing to use the dragons as his sole motivation for staying I really don't know what to do."
