"Clearly not anything," Alastor muttered, still not understanding how two men who claimed to have feelings for each other could give up after what couldn't have been more than a couple days, given how soon after the move to the reserve Alastor had been stopping Cal from doing stupid things at Eros. "Going through me? This is not when you go through me. Going through me first is what you have to do if you're dumb enough to think of hurting him more."
Alastor snorted. "You're an idiot. If you can believe that of my brother and give up so easily, you're an idiot and you don't deserve him. Or do you think a Moody proposes marriage to just anyone?" No, he didn't plan to interfere in the relationship itself, but that didn't stop him from stating his opinion. "Luck has nothing to do with it. How much is his happiness worth to you? Running away isn't going to make him happy."
Huffing irritably, he shook his head. "Not as of yet, although I'm open to suggestions. I've only had twelve hours to consider this. I was hoping someone who's known what was going on for longer than that might have a better idea what went wrong and where things need to be fixed," he said pointedly. Was Charlie serious? Alastor had just found out and already he was trying something. Charlie'd had a week, had been the one creating the problem in the first place, and he was sitting here waiting for Alastor to fix things?
