"Does it really matter what my intentions are?" Charlie asked, because that seemed to make very little difference to Callum. "I think Callum has made it painfully obvious that anything between us isn't going to work out, much as I might prefer things to be otherwise.." He told Alastor. As much as he wished things were different Charlie wasn't sure how to fix this situation - there were only so many times he could remind Callum of his feelings and it didn't seem to make much of a difference.
"I take it he's told you about his plans to leave the country?" Charlie guessed. "If you've found some way to get him to stick around I'd love to be a part of it, in anyway I can - even if that means just being his friend." Oh he wanted more than that of course, but if that's all Callum would give him he could make due. It would be far better to be his friend here than to have him half way across the world to escape something more.
