This week had been a right proper mess, Charlie didn't even know where to start. First things with Callum, he didn't even know how it had gotten so mixed up and what should have been a chance to fix things ended them well and good. And then Lily. Gods, the war was over, things like this weren't supposed to keep happening, and it just made everything else seem so insignificant in so many ways.
He would have much preferred to be fully at the reserve now, to lose himself in the familiarity of the dragons and forget about everything else that was going on around them. They had always been a way to calm himself in the past, and he itched to be spending his days there, working hard so that when he finished he didn't have it in him to think about anything else.
He missed that about Hogwarts, with all the extra hands on at the reserve Charlie hardly had reason to work himself to the point of exhaustion, and as some would likely point out he was the man in charge now and apparently that meant he wasn't allowed to run himself ragged anymore.
So instead of losing himself in dragons he did his best to keep himself busy at the Ministry. Taking care of last minute things to get himself out of there as quickly as possible, though the knock on his door late that morning pulled Charlie out of his focus. He frowned briefly when he saw that it was Alastor Moody at his door, but nodded waving him into the room. "Yeah, of course, what can I do for you?" Though there were only so many reasons that Alastor could be here, they weren't chatty sorts after all.
