"I didn't just pop the question out of no where, you prat." Charlie rolled his eyes. "Whatever the kids say these days? Who are you?" Charlie shook his head, rubbing a hand against his face for a moment. "It's not like we could just go on sharing a tent, or whatever the next step is - things work in certain ways on a reserve, and it's not dating the boss and then moving in together."
Now love was not a word he'd come up with until Percy said it, though maybe that's what this was. Charlie was so outside his element it was ridiculous. "I think we all deserve a little easy after everything." But he'd thought they were trying to make this work, they weren't sleeping together, they'd actually stopped spending any time together, and Charlie had thought it was to figure out a way to make it work without hurting Callum's pride in the process.
"Yes." That out of everything was the easiest to answer - he wouldn't be here talking to Percy of all people about the insanity that was his love life if he didn't still want Callum. He wouldn't put himself through this for anything less. "But I also kind of want to punch him in the face too."
