Re: Alastor/Jamie
Jamie didn't have to worry about Alastor saying another word. Fury had pushed him past the point of speaking. No matter how much he cared about Cal, he wasn't putting up with that, especially when Cal was too drunk to know what an unmitigated arse he was being.
Shaking Jamie's hand off, Alastor watched as his brother walked away. He'd tried to keep the idiot from doing something he'd regret later. Now it was on Callum's head.
"That was a family matter," he said sharply when Jamie pulled the politics card on him. God, he hated his job. Still, he wasn't actually pissed off at Jamie and he wasn't going to do anything further to upset Marlene's party or Dearborn's birthday -- both of which held more weight with Alastor than any political argument could. Taking a breath and trying to remember if he was supposed to count to one hundred or one hundred thousand to hold back the anger his brother's words had stirred up, he held up a conciliatory hand. "I'm fine. It's fine."
