"Oh gods, there would have to be a wand pressed to my chest to make me start creating laws just so I could stay at the Ministry longer." Charlie lifted his shoulders and sighed. "Well unless you plan on calling this thing off, I'm not entirely sure we have many other options available to us." This thing, whatever it was, wouldn't remain a secret - people would know, and maybe people would comment on it - or maybe they'd all look the other way, he wasn't really sure how anyone would react to this news.
Charlie slid his hand from Callum's waist up to his shoulder when he leaned forward. He could understand Callum's issue with all of this - even Charlie was still influenced by the mindset of dragon reserves, and maybe people were more open about these sorts of things now than they were in the past - but you didn't flaunt it, and you didn't live in the same tent with another man.
"You are really asking the wrong person." Charlie huffed out a short laugh. "I guess people just decide what they want and they don't really care about what anyone else thinks. Take my nephew for example, he went and got married to his husband without so much as telling anyone about it - they just decided it was what they wanted and they did it, without worrying about the consequences." In fact, Charlie was pretty sure they hadn't even thought about the consequences of what they'd done - but then that was so very Jamie, and Sirius too for that matter. "And unless you've had a sudden change of heart, and can be very convincing, we're not getting married." He reminded Callum - they were just ... living together, or something.
