RP: Remus and Ted
Who: Remus Lupin and Ted Lupin
Where: Ted and Victoire's Home
When: Saturday, 6 November, 2025, mid-morning before the Christening
Summary: Remus comes by to pick up journals and check on his son.
As he arrived at his son's home, Remus couldn't help thinking how ironic it was that one year after he'd come back from the dead in another time, he was in a similar position as to when he'd arrived -- not working, trying to find time to see friends and family around their work schedules, and coming to see Ted about getting his journals.
Of course, in reality his situation was nothing the same.
He wasn't working, true. But, for the first time in his life it was because he didn't have to work. Techincally, he considered his research work. Still, it wasn't the same as being employed by necessity for a living. It was hard to think of it as depending on others for his survival, even, when no one in their house was working because they needed the money. They still had responsibilities, but it wasn't at all the same as the days when Remus was lucky if he could afford to keep a roof over his head for a full month.
The timing of working around other people's schedules might have annoyed some. Remus was happy enough to be accommodating, though. He'd never been one to handle inactivity well. But, since the war's end three weeks earlier, he had a new appreciation for being able to simply enjoy his life in the present -- disagreements with friends not included. He could enjoy his research, his family.
Both of those things were what brought him to Ted and Victoire's door that morning. "Good morning," he said, smiling warmly when he saw his son. "I hope you don't mind my coming a little early. I wanted to make certain we'd have some time to talk and catch-up before the christening this afternoon."
