It was good to see her smile. The kid was far too serious this time around it seemed. He remembered her former self as being full of life and mischief, and it was something he'd like about her. He would see to it that she got that back.
"I've been a not-kid even longer than you, so the nickname stands," he said cheerfully, toasting her with his champagne glass. He winked at her cheekily, almost bordering on unprofessional, but she was also his friend, or had been. "Kid."
He nodded, surprised to hear she was staying with James and Lily. "Must be an interesting time, living with what could be considered newlyweds." Since Kings had no interest in getting married, ever, he couldn't imagine what it would be like to be around newlyweds. "And like Hell you are. I'm not losing another Auror."
