Re: Cassandra and Kat
"It sounds like a very good reason to smile," Cassandra agreed with a smile of her own. She was glad things seemed to be settling into place for Katherine after she had seemed to desolate the last time Cassandra had spoken to her.
The rest of what Katherine had to say gave Cassandra mixed feelings, however, and she listened thoughtfully as her friend talked over her plans. It didn't say much for her father if he needed 'convincing' to rectify the problems he'd caused his own daughter in sending her off like a lamb to slaughter. At the same time, she was honestly surprised at the direction Katherine had decided to go in. It was...uncharacteristically charitable of the girl she'd known.
"Of course I'll help you," she chided. She'd wished she had more than memories of her mother to help her when she'd stepped into the shoes running the stables and chairing the two small pet charities of her mother. How could she not help Katherine in the same situation? "Running a charity is a bit different than running a straight business. But, many of the principles can overlap. You'll want to think about not only hiring people, but who to hire, setting up a board of directors to manage things, fundraising, allocation of those funds after." Cassandra gave a dry laugh. "Not mention the forms you'll need to file with the Ministry. And those never end, there's always something that needs to be renewed."
