Re: Cassandra and Kat
Katherine was indeed in a good mood. Her "negotiation" with her father had worked just as planned. She was now a rich woman in her own right and she had spent the last week looking at homes. For the first time since she'd found out about Walden, she felt in control of her life.
"I thought this was the perfect opportunity to smile," she said brightly, putting up a privacy charm before going on. "I realised what I want to do, and I have managed to secure financial means and I'm looking for a home of my own. I'm in control for once."
She leaned in, and privacy spell or not, she still spoke in a lower voice. "I convinced my father that it was in his best interest to share some of his assets and put them in a vault in my name and to publicly support my efforts to find a home of my own. I also sent a petition to the Ministry requesting an annulment." The last was said in a normal tone. That was nothing to speak quietly about after all.
"I'll need your help, Cassandra," she then said. "More than money for myself, I want to start a fund, for women who can't afford to leave abusive relationships. There is so much about running a business that I don't know and while I can and will hire people, I still need to more so much more than I do." She smiled. "Please tell me you'll help me?"
