It was obvious emotions were running high the longer the conversation went on, and Sirius wasn't sure they could make it through this without more hurt feelings. Everyone had something invested in this conversation and they would only keep going around in circles if they kept this up.
"I think it would be best if we tried something like this again without all of this." Sirius waved a hand vaguely over the table to the remains of their dinner and sighed. "Give us all a chance to get our heads on straight."
As much as Sirius wanted things to be the way they used to be, Remus was right they all had unreasonable expectations for what this should be and he needed to realize those changes as much of any of the rest of them. Pushing away from the table Sirius got to his feet, "I am sorry about tonight."
