James listened quietly, looking over at Remus as he spoke about how they had to accept that they weren't the same people. He knew that, Lily knew that. They were just trying to do the right thing. He looked down at the table, nodding quietly before looking towards Lily. The hurt look on Lily's face was like a stab to the gut. Sure, Remus' words hadn't helped, but he hated to see Lily look upset. "Yes. Perhaps you are correct, Remus. We are not the same people."
He cleared his throat, making sure to push forward a polite expression. "Sirius, Remus, I'll send you an owl over the weekend. Perhaps my grandson is right. We may want to part for the evening."
