"I know he is, Lily. I may have spent years in Azkaban but I didn't forget everything that happened in the past." Sirius rolled his eyes at the implication behind Lily's words. "Remus and I have both been more than civil with Snape over the last several months, that's not the point."
Sirius shook his head. James was right, this wasn't worth it - he didn't care about the reasons, he cared about this all being pulled out from under him like this. Things hadn't been right between the three of them for ages, and some of it was probably his own doing, but to come here and be faced with it with each new revelation that was made over what remained of their dinner. "You used to trust me with your life, and your child's life." He said finally.
He wasn't in the mood for dessert now, or really much of anything if he was being honest. Maybe he was overreacting, and maybe he was being hypocritical, but none of that really mattered. He took James' hand under the table and squeezed.
