James looked at Remus for a moment before giving him a look that told him that Remus was obviously exaggerating. "Precisely, Remus. You cannot deny the truth of his statement. We come up with amazing things when we get ideas..." Just not pertaining to either of them doing anything less than platonic. "I'd have to turn you down if you got such ideas. I have no need for your manly wiles."
James, as well, was glad for a relatively polite dinner. He hadn't necessarily expected it, but it was lovely to see it happen. He squeezed Lily's hand under the table, smiling a little. Thank Merlin for the little things.
He looked up at his two best friends, smiling a little. Yes, he felt guilty, but this was a chance to live as they couldn't before, to raise a child together without the fear of death breathing down their necks. Maybe they'd get it right this time. He nodded. "Thank you, but I think Lily will be the one doing most of the work."
