"Cute?" Bill asked, and it wasn't a thought that had ever occurred to him, nor was it a way he normally thought of couples. "I just want her as happy as possible," he said. He smiled. "I want you happy too, Rose," he said.
He nodded at the question. "I was there for the opening night. You didn't go?" he asked, wondering if that had something to do with how she was feeling. He hoped she'd feel better soon, he wanted her happy.
"What do you want in a house?" he asked, tasting the risotto and deciding it was finished. He took it off the heat, added the finishing touches and put it onto two plates which levitated to the kitchen table. "Knowing what you want is usually a good beginning, then you can start adapting it to what you can afford."
