James froze in his spot, staring at Severus before looking towards Lily. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, not liking that look in the slightest. No one seemed to be willing to explain, so he supposed that meant it was up to him. Dammit. "Well, you see," he started before stopping.
"Umm...what it is..." He glared inwardly at himself. Bloody speak like a normal human being, James Potter! "Alright! Alright!" He leaned back, pouting slightly. He forced the pout off his face and looked pointedly at his plate.
"Al and I ran into each other before we had to leave the school," he started. "I asked him how things were with you two and drew a smiley face in the air...He asked me what it was, so I explained it was a smiley face and stood next to it to show him." He glanced up towards Lily for a moment. "We realized I'd forgotten the nose. It is...apparently the best part. I was thoroughly chastised for my lapse in memory," he assured, a small smile working its way across his face. "So Al made sure to draw me a correct representation of your smile. He claims you smile a lot."
