Lily knew she shouldn't be amused, but she couldn't help it. If James and Severus had mirrors, they'd be aware that the looks on their faces were practically identical. They both looked as if they'd swallowed sour lemons, and were surprised at the fact they were sour. However, she appreciated the restraint they each showed, and although Al was probably oblivious to a lot of the tension between the two men, he likely appreciated it too.
"That's an interesting parchment," she said to al, leaving James and Severus to size each other for the moment. "It writes down what we say?" she peeked over the edge, and saw that was correct, although there were lines of prose mixed in as well. "And Shakespeare. Quite a literate Quill you have there."
She grinned at Al, and moved back so they could come inside properly. "We haven't got much furniture yet, but dinner is almost ready, and I have wine. I find wine makes up for the lack of a lot of things, and what it doesn't fix, coffee does."
