October 28, 2025 Pansy Nott Head of the Board of Governors for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Dear Mrs. Nott, I am contacting you regarding an unpleasant situation, which arose after a discussion with Headmaster Snape. I was at the school yesterday and inquired about two of the new professors. The first involves the Headmaster's mother. As you can understand, with no qualification, it was natural to ask for an explanation of the appointment. While he stated that he was aware of her skills, he pointedly failed to explain why she would not work in Potions, but was in farming at Hogwarts during the siege. If she were so skilled, then one would assume that she would work there. While I understand that there are possible explanations, the Headmaster failed to give even a single one. Even more concerning, it was his antagonism when asked about Caractacus Burke. His reputation and reports of his fascination for the Dark arts concerned me. When asked about it, the Headmaster became rude and unresponsive. A simple reassurance that he would make certain that no such thing would occur would have sufficed. Instead, he was coy and indirect, bringing up his stand on Riddle. He only stated that the Dark arts would not be taught after I threatened him to bring the subject up with the Board and the MLE. While I am aware of their involvement in the fight against Riddle, that hardly is testimony of the curriculum that will be taught. If anything, the Headmaster's previous tenure proves that he puts things other than the students first. My discussion with him reinforced this idea. He seemed to think that giving people a second chance and rewarding them for fighting is more important than the welfare of the students. If all of the above were not enough, he was rude, vulgar and unresponsive, going so far as to tell me that I don't have to send my children to the school. Considering the high tuition and the fact that it is the only school we have in the country, he should be held accountable for what his action and he must explain such action to the parents when questioned. His behaviour is unbecoming of a Headmaster, or a simple professor for that matter. You must also understand that I feel an obligation to share my concerns with other parents. In the interest of the children, of course. I hope that you will look into the matter and a clarification on the matter could be given so that I can make a decision regarding my children's future. Sincerely, Alexander Higgs ________________________________ Alexander Higgs |
