Eva listened to Landon with a small smile on her face, knowing how the young man was feeling. She remembered what it was like, first going out on patrol with the watchers.
But their little conversation got cut short when a pained, animal yelp broke off what Landon was saying and caused Eva to stop walking and stand still with her wand already in her hand.
She put her hand on Landon's arm, stilling him after he called out for his friend. After Isaac spoke, she put her finger to her lips to reinforce the fact that they needed to be quiet. If Tristan had been attacked, Landon might have already given away the rest of their position.
Eva nodded at Isaac when he looked at her and she peered into the woods as she moved away from him and Landon. The underbrush was thick, however - too shadowed to let things hide.
Making a decision Eva began transforming, her feet leaving the ground and her arms shrinking into the wings of a falcon. She dove through the trees in the direction where they all had heard the noises, dodging branches and foliage.
It seemed like forever as Eva's small, bird heart beat rapidly in her chest out of adrenaline and fear for the young Tristan. It wasn't that long, however, when she found him.
As soon as she landed in her human form, with her wand Eva sent out a patronus to the others.
"Bloody fucking hell, Tristan!" Eva swore, seeing the wolf caught in an old bear trap. "Stop struggling!"
