She couldn't tell him how great it was to see the hint of tears form in his eyes before he pulled the blanket over his head. Even though he survived a brutal battle and war, he was still a child.
"Alex," she said softly, not bothering to try and uncover his head. "The unknown is possibly the most terrifying concept in the world. Right now, you think death would be a better alternative to the unknown, but don't. I believe your eyesight will return because I have faith in my skills as a healer as well as the skills of everyone who works here."
Margot hated that she couldn't make it better, but there were somethings she wouldn't be able to achieve without his cooperation, which he wasn't giving. Leaning in close, she whispered, "Giving up on hope is just as good as telling them they've won. I don't believe you fought only to give up now."
