James laughed softly at her question. "Of course not. There are people here. How am I supposed to have you all to myself when I have to share you with other people in a farmhouse?"
Not that he really had to share her...or that he was allowed to not share her in any case. All the same, he wouldn't mind a bed that he could actually call his own for longer than a little while.
He ran his fingers through her hair as she curled against him. He understood the worries about the baby, but he certainly knew he wasn't the one worrying quite as much. "Of course you can tell Marlene, Lils. Like I'd stop you from telling her about it." He kissed the top of her head. "We'll let you have a bit of respite from all the excitement that will end up plaguing your sad, disintegrating mind when the rest of them find out."
He had been joking about her mind. He hoped she caught that one. Otherwise he might get hit...and he did not like getting hit.
