"Yes well, you're a much braver man than I am." Charlie decided with a chuckle. "I think I'll live so long as you'll be a sounding board for me." He still thought it was a very stupid idea for him of all people to be working in politics but there wasn't a whole lot he could do about it now.
"Still coming up with the best ideas." Charlie would never get tired of that, and it did help that Callum knew his family. Perhaps not in the traditional way that one needed to know a family, but enough to understand where Charlie was coming from when he dealt with them.
Charlie rolled his eyes, and nudged Callum's shoulder with his own. "I was never involved because I never wanted to be, I'd only attempt to have this conversation, even as horribly as I've done it up to now, with someone I actually wanted." Charlie nodded, he could deal with that - having Callum at night, it wasn't like they'd be around a whole lot together during the day as it was with all these changes. "Yeah, we could do that." And if it ended up not working? Well there would be another awkward stilted conversation in their future.
