That probably wasn't the best thing for him, but he could understand his son's desire to actually be in some other position than the one he'd found him in for this conversation.
Hugo was right about Rose, she shouldn't have been out there. He and Hermione both had their reservations about putting her in that position, but there wasn't anything to be done for it now. They could just pray that she got better.
