He knew that Charlie was teasing and probably should joke back, but instead he shook his head as much as he could considering his position. "No, I like having you around."
He smiled. "You love them, just from afar. I get that. I need a house and a job for me and my son, but no way I'm teaching. I'd rather move with your family."
Callum raised his head again, propping it on one hand. "Charlie, you don't need to try so hard. Neither of us knows how to deal with this, and... it's fine. We can be dead tomorrow, so it's really not an issue, and we might not see each other much in the future, making it a non issue once more. We'll worry about it later. I just... I want to sleep with you one more night and not worry about anything. Tomorrow afternoon we can decide if we even want to talk about it."
