Bill shrugged even as he smiled. "No need to apologise, but if you change your mind, the offer stands," he said. "As long as it doesn't hurt innocent people on both sides of the walls, I'm fully prepared to keep it a secret," he said. "If that's not good enough, then that's your decision." He wasn't one to nag.
He took a bite of his food. "So how do you like the work so far?" he asked instead. "Anything you think could be better?" It never hurt to get more imput, and he liked to know what those working for him thought. It helped him make the decisions later.
