Maybe it would be best to settle for one dance to start; her feet were already tired, but the music was lovely and her husband was smiling. How could she say she wouldn't want another before the evening was over?
He kept the steps simple, for her, she was sure, and Lilith clasped his hand and let him guide her. This was so nice. A dance. A party. Her husband and his arms around her. All the anxiety and uncertainty about anything and everything faded away. Her worries about the baby, giving birth without her mother, her job and the ministry, nothing mattered right now.
She tucked herself against him, cheek to his chest, breathing in the warm scent of him. "I love you," she whispered, squeezing his hand tightly in her own.
