As soon as the gobstone's shell reinstated itself, Burke took his gloves and gingerly picked up the ball, raising an eyebrow as Ms. Prince's gift sent out a slither of insidious magic that petulantly caused his arms to bristle out in pins and needles before numbing completely. If he had been careless enough to touch it without protection, it doubtless would have given Caractacus quite an unpleasant shock, "Ah, so you are not actually ice, you are merely a physical manifestation of Ms. Prince's magic."
Caractacus found himself scowling; although the gobstone may have been of Ms. Prince's make, it was freely given and that made the gobstone his property. And he truly couldn't abide others interfering with his property. Summoning anger of his own, he tossed off a quick, intense fire spell centering on the stone.
