On a day like today, we pass the time away...
Who: Alex and anyone else with a sand fetish.
Where: The Beach
When: 21 August, right after breakfast.
Rating/Warnings: Sand in uncomfy places? None, really.
Summary: Alex contemplates sandy construction.
Status: Complete
Alex dropped onto his knees, patting a large scraped square of sand, pressing it down with his hands and smoothing it as he went. You had to have hard. Packed. He frowned, then brushed off his hands before reaching for the 'tools' he'd borrowed from the kitchen. There were square storage containers, and a big spoon, a scoop, a handful of weird looking forks, and a pair of buckets. He'd already filled one bucket with water in readiness, and now he fished a sheet of paper out of his back pocket.
He'd drawn out what he wanted, figuring out where sticks might be needed for strength, and he staked the drawing out with a stick beside his foundation, then picked up the other bucket and a scoop, heading to fill it with sand.
It didn't take long to get the basics built, strong square shapes of packed sand with a space for the entry, and he took a break from the sand to twist seagrass into ties to fashion a gate from twigs. Sandy knights would need some way to get into the bloody thing, right? To save the princess. Or whatever.
