"Yes, you do it, but you act like it's such a humongous chore that you're too good for, and people should prostrate themselves at your feet for deigning to do your job," Lori said, eyes flashing angrily. This wasn't even about his guilt anymore, this was about Scorpius not hearing what a spoiled brat he sounded like, when everyone was in the same situation, and making the best of it. "Everyone here has lost something, sometimes entire families, but they don't go around whining about situations out of their control. They do their jobs, make friends, and keep calm and carry on. That's what the British do."
He sighed, feeling beyond weary at this entire situation, and knowing he wasn't making it any better by snapping at Scorpius, but he was so tired of hearing the same complaints over and over. "And you shouldn't suck things up, you should accept them, and take what enjoyment you can, without thinking about the negatives. Because the truth is, nothing here is ideal, but if we concentrate on only that, we'll go mental."
He paused, and knew he was going to regret this, but he was so angry right now that it seemed like the perfect time. "I slept with someone else," he said, blurting it right out in the middle of the corridor. "There was a hex on me, a dark lust curse." He shuddered, because the idea of the curse still made him feel vulnerable, but he knew it wasn't an excuse. It might have been the catalyst, but he'd made the decision to sleep with Jacob knowing exactly what he was doing. "And maybe that Lori isn't really me. I went from school to Dylan to you, and I don't even know who I am beyond a Healer." He sighed, and turned to look at Scor, regret written all over his face. "I'm sorry."
