RP: Belvina (Letters to Pansy, Theo, Stephen, Lex, Cassandra & Bellatrix)
Who: Belvina Black - Letters to Pansy, Theo, Stephen, Lex, Cassandra, Bellatrix (feel free to post reactions)
Where: Nott Manor then Grimmauld Place
When: August 29th, 2025
Summary: Belvina makes her escape.
Belvina had been up early, packing. She didn't want to be late to meet Regulus's house elf and she wanted to be out of the house before lunchtime. She knew the hours most members of society kept and although it meant they wouldn't usually call before noon, especially on a weekend, she wouldn't risk it. Belvina would be at Diagon Alley at eleven am sharp.
Packing her clothes had been easy, her potions slightly harder. She had left a few of her non-important ones, focusing on packing her cauldron and ingredients instead. Those were far more important to her, especially considering how she had worked to build up a stock of rarer ingredients since coming back. The trunk she proposed to take was large and yet she thought it would be easily transported once it was shrunken down to fit in her pocket and fitted with a feather-light charm.
The letters came next. There were plenty of people to write yet she'd whittled it down to just a few. Pansy & Theodore. Stephen. Alexander. Cassandra. Bellatrix. She had things to say to all of them and, as they would not be delivered till late in the afternoon when she was safe and sound in Grimmauld Place, she thought all would be fine. Each of them were hexed to only open upon being in the hands of the intended recipients. Anybody else would see a polite note inquiring into their availability for a tea party before the letter disappeared without a trace ten minutes later.
Once Belvina was done, she placed the letters in her pocket, her shrunken-down trunk placed in the other. She pulled on her cloak, the hood hanging over her face and leaving it covered. Nobody would see her anyway, not with a Disillusionment spell. She looked around her rooms once more before leaving and Apparating to Diagon Alley.
Ten minutes later, she was in Grimmauld Place and Dolan was making her a cup of tea. Belvina wandered through the house like an excited child, both thrilled and upset by the changes she saw. It was a different house than she knew, that was true, but it was beautiful and it still felt the same to her. It felt like home.
Heading down to the kitchen, she thanked Dolan and gave him the letters to send, telling him to deliver them in that order. Once he had left, she sipped at her tea daintily and smiled. She was home. And safe.
Belvina couldn't ask for any more than that.

Dear Mr & Mrs. Nott,
I must thank you for your kindness in having me in your home. You truly have been wonderful hosts and I've enjoyed living here immensely. Unfortunately I will not be staying; the events of last night could happen again and I will not bring my personal problems into your household. The last thing you need is more suspicion, especially with Stephen married to Andromeda.
Please keep yourselves safe. I will not say where I have gone, only that it is safe and untraceable.
Thank you again for being such gracious hosts. If there is anything I can do to repay your kindness, please do not hesitate to ask.
Fondly,
Belvina

Dear Stephen,
I thought you deserved to find out separately from your parents: I've left the manor and will be going somewhere secure and untraceable. I will be safe and this is of my own doing. Your family cannot afford to be party to my personal problems and I will not bring them to your door. It would not be fair nor seemly, especially considering your situation with Andromeda.
Make sure you look after your wife, Stephen. Make sure she can lie convincingly about what the pair of you do when you are intimate. It would not do for any of her relations to become suspicious. Please just trust me on this. It might be worth asking your father for Occlumency lessons, at least for her. I fear for both of you if they find out you are unlike them.
If you need to get hold of me, write to my contact at Hogwarts. I'm sure you came to conclusions a while back and know who has been looking out for me from afar. You are the only person with this information, I haven't mentioned it to your parents.
I'm truly sorry that I saw you only briefly last night. I was out of sorts during and after the wedding and could not face conversation. Now I have to leave and it hurts that I didn't get to say goodbye. I would come and visit before leaving but, to be truthful, I cannot trust that Andromeda says nothing about my leaving. That and you would probably come up with some impossibly correct - and infuriating - logic explaining why I should stay.
I'll miss you.
Yours,
Belvina

Dear Alexander,
I understand that you couldn't help me last night but please know that I am all right. It was mostly my pride they wanted and, even if they had it for a minute, they will not have it again. Please convey my best to the children and wish them well at school. I shall not be contactable for a while but know that I am safe and that I thank you for being a friend.
Fondly,
Belvina
::
Dear Cassandra,
I do not have much time left - The rest of my letter will explain why. However I have received your letter this morning and cannot leave without writing you one last time. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I will not forget it.
I will be going away for a while until the dust settles. I fear that staying could endanger me. You could not have prevented anything last night, not without putting your own life in danger and I would not have permitted that. It would not have been seemly and I would never have been able to repay such bravery.
I apologise for the short missive, I will explain fully another time as I do hope we will meet again. I must reiterate once more, however, not matter how trite it may sound: I greatly appreciate everything you have done, Cassandra. You have been a true friend and, I hope, a life-long one.
Fondly,
Belvina

Dear Bellatrix,
I have assumed from your conduct last night, or rather from the lack thereof, that you do not wish us to be kinswomen. I know of no other person that would sit back and watch as their relative is taken out of the room to be violated which means that you were in favour of such an unpardonable act, that you were negligent when it came to looking after the well-being of a young relative of the same blood. I had not disowned you when the rest of the family had. I wanted to believe that you had familial feelings for me but I see that this is impossible.
You know where I have come back from, you are well aware of the rules and etiquette of such society. For me to have departed with them of my own free will would have been both unfathomable and impossible as well you know. I cannot forgive your behaviour towards me, not after such a slight.
You will not find me at the Notts by the time you receive this missive. They also do not know where I am so asking them - whether it be at wand point or politely - will not reveal any extra information.
Kindly inform Rabastan and Fenrir that I will not refrain from using my magic when I see them next, consequences or not. Nobody will treat me in such a way and remain unpunished for it.
Sincerely,
Belvina Black
