Cassandra sighed softly as she read Belvina's letter. Perhaps Professor Black had been able to help her after all. Good. At least that was one of them safely out of harm's way.
She wouldn't write now. It was likely Professor Black could get a message to Belvina. But, there was no practical point to it. Correspondence should be saved for necessity and Belvina was safe for the time being. That Cassandra might do something brave caused her to laugh softly. She had no intentions of doing anything brave. That was something better suited to Gryffindors and revolutionaries. She intended to be smart about things while doing what she could to protect her way of life and those in it.
And when this was over, she'd just have to invite Belvina over for a real lunch and ride to hear all about the details she couldn't explain.
