Re: After dinner
"You're going to pull yourself together and keep your head high, the smile on your face," Cassandra said sternly, gripping Kat's hands firmly to stop the them shaking.
She was nearly as shocked at what had happened as her young friend, but now was most certainly not the time to give in to the fear and outrage many were feeling. It would just sort of social genocide for any of them to show their displeasure with the actions of their so-called leaders. Someone had to be doing something. They couldn't all just be complacently waiting for the rebels at Hogwarts to save them. Somehow, they would just have to find out who was doing what and see what they could do to speed things along.
Or, Cassandra would.
Kat had larger worries.
"Put it out of your mind," she advised. "You can't think of what's happened to her right now. She's the Chief of the Wizengamot's kin. They won't kill her. As long as she's alive, she's a chance." And Belvina had other kin who might be able to help, if Cassandra could figure out a safe way to contact them.
"The only thing you need to do now is focus on getting through tonight and the next week."
