"No," she said with honesty and a small grin. "At least I wasn't the night before. I was absolutely terrified about the wedding and the marriage... The marriage part was disconcerting."
She decided to err on the side of safety when answering the next question. It wouldn't do for anything she said to be reported back in a negative light.
"There is much more freedom," she admitted. "In terms of marrying whomever you choose, having a job, not having to be chaperoned. Such things were not really permitted in my time. Marrying for love was a rarity indeed but occasionally happened."
