Belvina, like the others, followed Cassandra into the drawing room. The light was pleasant, the furniture exquisite and yet the entire event had seemed sad to her even if they were all doing their best to make sure Katherine had a lovely time.
"You've outdone yourself, Cassandra. I couldn't think of a single thing I'd do differently," she said, smiling at her hostess.
"So Katherine... Are you all ready for the wedding?" she asked, trying to be kind. "I came back to this time from the night before my own wedding. Hearing I was over one hundred years out of my time combined with pre-wedding jitters did not make it a pleasant experience."
