Re: Hannah + Lily
She had not been prepared for how hard this would be. She'd thought she'd know, she'd been at her own parents' funeral, but this was worse. This was her little boy, and his wife, and their nephew taken too young. But it was Harry's loss that hurt the most. This man that she'd barely known, but loved so much when she'd finally let herself.
James had his arm around her and she was grateful for the support. He was grieving too, and he'd loved and accepted Harry from the first. He was a better parent than she'd been, able to accept their son for the man he was, and not wish for the baby he'd been. She'd been able to do the same, but so much time had been lost, and now there would be no more chances for them.
She wiped away the tears, and rested her head against James' shoulder as the service came to an end. She looked up, and saw Hannah and Sammy there, and offered the woman a small smile. "Thank you," she whispered. "I know you and Harry and Ginny were close. It's a very big loss for all of us."
