He didn't argue, if it was Jamie's way of dealing then it was his to keep. "I hated it," he said. "But whatever you're fine with. Just know that I'm there if you want a break. Just to hang out, or talk about something other than the war." He didn't imagine Jamie's situation was easy, even if he had new people to talk to now, he wanted Jamie to know he was still there if he needed him.
He looked over at Dom, hugging her father. "She's as well as can be expected," he said. "We haven't really talked about it, she doesn't want to, I don't push." They were good at that, not talking, avoiding what didn't feel right. He wasn't sure why he'd avoided her after Cass died when he didn't want to really talk, possibly because she felt so connected to his death.
