Charlie just let his brother cry, Bill had experienced too much of this - all of it too close to home, he couldn't blame him for this loss especially being so hard for him to deal with. They shouldn't have had to do this, it was wrong in every possible way.
When Bill finally spoke again, Charlie wasn't sure how much time had passed, but it must have been significant if the sound of Bill's voice was anything to go on. "What?" Charlie didn't know what Bill was even asking him, was it us? And gods when Bill finished Charlie could only imagine how much worse that pain had been with Bill even considering for a second that it could have been his fault.
"Gods, Bill no - this was not your fault." He told his brother first, because that was the most important thing for Bill to understand, he hadn't caused this, in much the same way that he needed to remember that it hadn't been his fault either - he was supposed to take care of those kids, they had been his responsibility and Louis had still died. "No, it wasn't one of the dragons, I told you they were fine." He reminded his brother shaking his head. "It was a curse." He sighed, he hadn't even seen it himself, but Ben had been there right beside Louis - the boy was a wreck now thanks to that experience. "It wasn't the dragons."
