The arrival of an unknown Patronus prevented Alastor from responding immediately. Raising an eyebrow, he waited as a message was clearly being delivered to his dour counterpart. Confirmation didn't come as any surprise, though the revelation Severus had a source he hadn't spoken of did.
Not that Alastor would press. He might have told them he was in contact with the outside, evidenced by the supplies Stephen sent, but he'd never revealed it was Stephen.
"Right. That settles that." Alastor brushed his own thoughts on Potter's death aside for the moment. For all their recent differences, he'd liked the man. But, this grief was not his. There was too much work to be done.
And then there was Vance.
"I'll have to tell the others something about Vance," he said quietly, not relishing having to share the news with Marlene. "But, I don't see what we can do for her, right now. As we've both just said, we assume anything she or Potter knew is compromised. Thankfully, that mostly extends to schedules that will now change and one tunnel that's now closed, as the most immediately damaging, unless I'm forgetting something?" Entirely possible seeing as he hadn't had any sleep since getting up at 5am the previous morning.
"That being said, we should go together to tell Jamie. We owe him that courtesy." Alastor might not know social etiquette, but he know professional courtesies and military etiquette. The three of the were a unit and they would treat each other as such. "Which means standing there and letting me do the talking if necessary. But, we should both be present."
