Re: Remus & Natasha
Remus hadn't been asleep when the alarm came. When he'd gotten back to their rooms after leaving Ted's wedding, Sirius had been there and Remus didn't really want to discuss the fact his son and his new wife didn't consider Regulus family. Saying only that he hadn't been able to stay, he'd left the brothers to talk and gone to bed. After Regulus joined him there, sleep hadn't come quickly.
So, when the alarm was sounded, Remus didn't have to wake up, just pressed a kiss to Regulus' lips quickly and summoned clothes, denims and a tight polo-neck that were easier for him to fight in.
Only when they got there, it was too close quarters for hand-to-hand and he had to stop a couple of their own werewolves from engaging in that way. They'd only be in the way of their side getting off clean shots. If the other side, which seemed to be predominantly werewolves and under Greyback's direction, engaged, they could defend using hand-to-hand. But it was better to stay back and use spells in these close quarters.
Remus alternated his spells, combining his own with those he'd learned from Dumbledore, never the same spell twice in a row, never letting himself settle into a recognisable rhythm an enemy could read. When he saw the woman bearing down on one of their own injured, the knife his magic called to his hand as as instinctive as his aim for her heart was deadly and true when he threw it, pausing only a moment to confirm she was down before focusing on the next target.
