Harry hadn't spoken while they discussed things, again wrapped up in his own thoughts. As much as he'd decided not to tell Ginny, Ron or Hermione, he couldn't help but to be tempted. With their help, they'd find a way.
But then Hermione spoke of stupidity, and he knew what she'd think of the idea, even if she'd end up helping him anyway. Could he put her or Ron or Ginny in that kind of risk? The risk of death, or of not being able to return here, to their family? No. This time he'd make the decision for them. This time he'd say nothing. He looked at Charlie instead.
"We're really sorry," he said. "We got caught up in the excitement and didn't think. We should have. Most of all we should have listened to you when you told us to leave."
