Re: The Ceremony
Music began and everyone stood and turned. It wasn't the huge wedding she had always dreamed of, but almost everyone was there. She wore a beautiful dress, held a beautiful bouquet, and her father's arm and walked down the aisle, or path as it were. It worked - all of it.
At the other end Ted stood, ready to accept her as his wife and for a minute, he was the only thing she saw. Everything else faded into the background. Somewhere her mother was there, maybe in the wind, or in a dream. She had to believe that.
When her father placed her hand in her groom's, she felt her pulse accelerate. This was it. They were actually getting married, and she was happy. Tears had already started, no matter how she tried to stop them. They were happy tears. No sadness would be allowed today.
