"I know. I'm not upset with you, but next time don't put me in the position that I have to be the nice one. That's your job, remember?" he said, smiling a little, because this was a lot more familiar than the pandemonium that they had witness just a few hours ago.
"Yes, you did tell me that, and I get that it means marriages, but I still don't get how we ended up mated," he said. "I know I haven't told them, and you haven't told them, and the kiddies wouldn't be so stupid. So how did they get that idea." Callum nodded. "Yeah, they told me. I always assumed that it was some stupid euphemism, and I haven't really bothered with the paper since getting here, or before. It's rather useless when I don't know anyone else."
He chuckled. "Yeah, you're usually more relaxed." And bloody hell, he'd worked hard to make sure that Charlie was relaxed and now they were in a worse position than before.
Resting a hand on Charlie's thigh, he squeezed it gently. "Sorry, and in no way I want to defend him, but as someone that was truly horrible to his little brother, I can tell you that sometimes you do stupid things, even if you care and don't mean to hurt the person. Still, he shouldn't have said those things. Are you going to be all right going up there for the wedding?"
