"Mmhmm." Charlie chuckled, Callum could pretend to be an idiot all he liked, he knew better of course. "At least you have me around to make sure you know what to do, and to keep you from getting hurt." He smirked. "I remember, when it happened." Oh he'd been a kid himself of course, but he had been old enough to remember that day. "I didn't really understand it completely of course, I just knew that my mum and dad seemed so relieved for the first time in ages, and things didn't seem quite so dire anymore." He shrugged. "I can imagine the sense of relief people felt that first time Harry stopped him, a bit like we'll feel when all of this is over and people stop trying to send us body parts like it's perfectly normal."
Charlie couldn't remember the last time he'd been able to be so ridiculous with someone, and manage to keep it up for so long. "You're so sweet, does anyone else know what a romantic you are?"
Grinning Charlie shrugged. "What can I say, they go deeper than I realized." He nodded when Callum continued. He didn't have children of his own, hell he hadn't had a serious relationship since his twenties, but he could understand that need Callum had to keep Baron safe, especially after what had happened the first time. "We're gonna do what we can to make sure that doesn't happen." He promised, it was the best he could do - Charlie would have liked to promise everyone that they'd make it through this, but he couldn't control that and he knew it. But they'd do what they could for the kids out here working with them.
