It wasn't the fact that Al didn't tread on his feet that was the most amazing thing, despite the fact Al had admitted to not knowing the steps. It wasn't even the ease with which Al followed his lead, moving with him like his shadow. (Or Severus was his shadow: tall and thin and black.)
It was the way Al laughed: open and carefree. Relaxed, even doing something he'd never done before, even in public. Enjoying it.
This miracle, right here in his arms, kindled another small miracle: the smile - warm and genuine, for all its slightness - that spread over Severus' harsh face. In public.
