Closing the door, Harry took a seat, pondering in which order to take things before he started. "Three things," he said. "One relates to the castle, the other two to the war."
"To start with the castle, I'd like to suggest opening up the grounds for the general population for a few hours a day," he said. "Especially the children, but also some adults, never get to be outside other than in the courtyards. People miss flying, playing Quidditch, I've even heard people mention swimming even if it's bound to be freezing. Even the rain doesn't stop people from wanting to be able to go outside."
"I've checked how many there is who wants this," he said, handing Moody a paper with numbers and times. "I know it would require changes in security, but I also believe you stand to gain on letting people have a bit more choice when it comes to recreation. If they feel they have more freedom, tension is likely to lessen. Remus also pointed out that the werewolves tends to be restless before the full moon, and this could help them work off the excess energy."
He paused for a moment, letting Moody read the numbers and suggestions written down before moving on. "The rest, as I said is about the war. I don't think it will come as a surprise when I say that I'm not happy with the new assignments. It's not that I can't see the logic, I just can't come to terms with the morality of it. However, it did get me thinking about what else we could do. Something to help people, something that would shake up Riddle, show people that we are still fighting, that we don't forget those on the outside."
He paused. "What would you say to breaking people out of Azkaban?" he asked. "And yes, I know it's insane, but we already stole dragons, and set everything up in here. If Riddle could do it with just a handful of men, so can we. We can even copy his method and smuggle in an explosive device into the fortress. The trick is finding a way in. Disillusion won't work, neither will an invisibility cloak, since Dementors feel people rather than see them. Which means either someone has to be arrested, or Pettigrew could steal on board one of the prison transports. One thing there is plenty of in Azkaban is rats."
"We can steal a muggle boat, wait outside, those of us who know how to cast Patronuses keep the Dementors at bay while the rest help the prisoners out. It needs more work, of course, and it's completely insane, but that hasn't stopped us so far. You can't deny that it would cause a blow to Riddle's administration, not to mention the lives that would be saved."
