Hugo sighed, and closed his eyes. "Could you stop talking like my mother?" he asked, with a small laugh. "Sometimes I just need you to agree with me, not try to make me feel better, or find explanations for everything."
He pulled back, and gentled the outburst with a small smile. "We're just kids, Wren, we should get to be just kids, and not have to worry about all this." He sat up completely, and stood, starting to pace.
"I know I'm not useless, but that's how I feel. She's my sister, and I should be able to help, and not helping makes me feel helpless, and useless."
