Remus didn't give a damn about Bellatrix or Harry or Rose. None of that mattered when compared to the fact the one option he'd disliked the most turned out to be the true one. It was like a blow to the gut, the realisation Regulus had been deliberately baiting him, seemingly without any thought to how much he would hurt Remus in the process.
"Wow." He breathed, just staring at his lover. "You told him you wouldn't cheat on me, while trying to make me think you would? So lucky to have me, yet..."
Shaking his head he backed away, intending to return to the couch, but sitting on the floor instead because it was simply easier to reach. Turning his back on Regulus, he leaned his forehead on the edge of the couch. "God, I'm an idiot. I've been telling myself all day that was the least likely scenario, that you loved me too much to deliberately do something to hurt me like that. You even said you knew what it would do to me, so you wouldn't do it. And you didn't even really think that it would, did you?"
God, it was just like Sirius sixth year. Never mind Remus was a person. Clearly he existed only for his condition to amuse Blacks. "Go ahead," he mumbled, biting his lip and hoping Regulus would leave before the tears started falling. "I'll come to bed in a little while."
